Sports and Event Photography

Struggling to stay up in a down economy?  Then Sport and Event Photography may be your answer.  In this class, you will learn the essentials of posing, lighting for a variety of situations, workflow, and products that can set yourself apart from the rest.  We will cover team and individuals, schools, sports action, green screen, and corporate/charitable events.  We will also discuss and demonstrate the equipment needed to fulfill a variety of jobs.  If you are looking for ways to add extra income to your business, then this session is for you!  Students are required to bring a camera and variety of short to long lenses.  If you have a laptop then you are encouraged to bring that as well. Class size is limited to 15 students with any levels of experience.

Together John and Cindy have over 20 years of experience in the photography business.  John learned photography as a photojournalist, working for several newspapers and publications across the country.  Cindy grew up in the traditional portrait photography industry, photographing her first wedding at 16 years old.   Beginning their business together in 2001 focusing on commercial, sports action and team photography, and expanding it in four year later to include weddings, families, seniors, and everything else under the sun, they stay both busy and profitable 12 months through the year.  The La Barges are both members of Professional Photographers of America, Kansas Professional Photographers Association, and the Society of Sports and Event Photographers.  John has won both the Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards and has recently earned his Masters in Photography.
