Corel Painter X is chock full of expressive tools. This class is designed for Painter users with a desire to kick it up a notch. With a focus on interpretive portraiture, subjects like the vocabulary of paint, brush customization, painterly simplification, layers as a safety net, painting workflow, focusing on the subject, faces & hands, skin, hair, and eye treatment, adding highlights for dramatic effect, and the “beautypass”-additive strokes that add life and energy-will be covered. You’ll be sure to walk away from this class with a few new tricks under your belt! Students should have experience with both Photoshop and Painter as a basis for this class. Students are responsible for their own laptop with both Photoshop and the latest version of Painter X installed ( a fully functional 30-day trial version of Painter is available at www.corel.com/painter. Please note that if you intend to use the trial software for the class, do not download and install it prior to May 7, 2008. Otherwise, the trial period will expire prior to the class and cannot be re-installed). A Wacom tablet is highly recommended and essential if you intend on continuing develeoping your own expressive interpretations.
